YORK, S.C. (AP) - A former jail guard in South Carolina has been placed on probation for assaulting an inmate nearly two years ago. The Herald of Rock Hill reported that 60-year-old Robert Cordell Martin of Smyrna pleaded no contest to a charge of aggravated assault and battery Tuesday in York.
